The education, examination and translation centre deutsch.ba offers a wide range of services under one roof: from German courses to German examinations at various proficiency levels. As a licensed ÖSD examination centre, it supports learners from targeted exam preparation all the way to the ÖSD certificate.

In early 2022 deutsch.ba – Edukativni i ispitni centar (education, examination and translation centre) was founded in Tešanj, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Initially, the focus was on German language teaching and professional translation services. Today, it is a modern language centre that supports people on their personal and professional paths.

The organisation’s services include language courses for children, teenagers and adults, individual and group lessons, preparation for internationally recognised language examinations, as well as certified and specialised translations. They also organise educational events, workshops and professional development programmes for different target groups.

Particular importance is placed on providing personal support to every participant: deutsch.ba works with small groups, takes individual learning progress into account and combines language teaching with practical content. As an education centre, it places great emphasis on high quality and a pleasant learning atmosphere.

From first language skills to a successful exam

The diverse educational programme at deutsch.ba is aimed at children, teenagers and adults. It includes German courses at levels A1 to C1, English courses and individual lessons, intensive courses and preparation courses for language examinations. Various workshops and professional development programmes are also offered.

Participants at deutsch.ba include school students, university students and working professionals, as well as anyone wishing to improve their language skills for personal or professional reasons. Many course participants are preparing for university studies, vocational training or work in a German-speaking country. Courses are offered in the morning as well as in the afternoon and evening. There are also intensive courses during school holidays and attractive discounts for children, school students, siblings and groups.

In its classes, deutsch.ba uses modern, communicative teaching methods. These include up-to-date coursebooks, videos, audio files, online exercises, as well as games and practical tasks. Lessons are designed to enable participants to use the language confidently and effectively in everyday life.

Motivating learning environment

The organisation is located in Tešanj, a town with a long cultural and business tradition in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Modern classrooms provide a learning environment in which participants can feel comfortable and concentrate on their studies.

Amra Sinanović, founder and director of deutsch.ba, explains: “We place particular emphasis on a friendly, respectful and supportive learning environment. Our course participants receive individual support and continuous feedback so that they can achieve their goals as efficiently as possible.”

The language school’s team consists of qualified and dedicated teachers who continually develop their skills and use modern, communicative teaching methods. The motivation of participants is always at the centre of their work. “This personal and trusting atmosphere at deutsch.ba also means that participants often come back to visit us even when they no longer need our services,” says Ms Sinanović.

Expanding the range of services with ÖSD examinations

Many years of experience in preparing candidates for ÖSD German examinations motivated the centre to become an examination centre of the Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch (ÖSD): “We had noticed how stressful the examination process can be for candidates and how important a pleasant examination atmosphere is for their success. That is why we created a place where examination stress is kept as low as possible and where participants can demonstrate their knowledge and language skills to the best of their ability,” explains Amra Sinanović, who is also ÖSD examination official.

As a licensed ÖSD examination centre, deutsch.ba is now able to offer the entire process, from exam preparation through to obtaining a German language certificate. Currently, the following ÖSD examinations can be taken at deutsch.ba:
