German Courses and ÖSD Exams at DeutschAkademie Vienna

Learn German in Austria: DeutschAkademie is a private language school located in the heart of Vienna. The institution has existed since 1999 and specialises in high-quality German courses. DeutschAkademie is known for its intensive and semi-intensive courses at language levels A1 to C1. It is now also an ÖSD examination centre.

A key feature of DeutschAkademie is its high quality standards and strong participant orientation. The institution offers its course participants a money-back or quality guarantee if they are not satisfied with a chosen course. The school is proud of its good recommendation rates and a Google rating of 4.9. Thus, DeutschAkademie has established itself as a renowned and trustworthy language school.

A wide range of German courses

DeutschAkademie offers German courses both on-site in Vienna and online. The lessons are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). All levels from A1 to C2 are offered monthly, with individual levels further divided into half-levels (e.g., A1.1, A1.2, A2.1, etc.). Due to monthly course starts, there is a high number of courses per semester.

The core offering consists of intensive and semi-intensive courses. Intensive courses take place four days a week over four weeks, while semi-intensive courses run two days a week over eight weeks. Both course formats comprise a total of 48 lessons or 16 teaching units. Additionally, conversation and grammar courses are offered.

The courses take place at different times of the day, allowing participants to flexibly choose between morning, afternoon, and evening courses. The main target group includes individuals aged between 18 and 35 who need German for studies, work, or everyday life. DeutschAkademie regularly offers discounts and funding opportunities and works closely with organisations including waff, the Wiener Arbeitnehmer*innen Förderungsfonds (Vienna Empoyment Promotion Fund).

Central location and welcoming atmosphere

DeutschAkademie is located in the centre of Vienna at Opernring 1, directly opposite the Vienna State Opera. Due to its central location, the school is very easily accessible by public transport and offers participants an international and culturally diverse environment in the heart of the city.

The classrooms are modern and provide a welcoming learning environment. They are equipped with whiteboards, projectors, audio equipment and, in some cases, smartboards, facilitating interactive and multimedia-based teaching. Both face-to-face and online courses are professionally organised to meet participants’ different needs.

Qualified German teachers

DeutschAkademie’s teaching staff consists of qualified teachers with native German language skills, training in German as a foreign or second language, and extensive teaching experience. Particularly noteworthy is the didactic diversity within the team: the teachers design their lessons independently and incorporate various methods, materials, and creative approaches. This results in varied and practical lessons that are strongly oriented towards the needs of the learners.

The courses use recognised textbooks published by Klett and Hueber, including Netzwerk Neu, Aspekte Neu, Momente and Menschen.

DeutschAkademie as an examination centre

DeutschAkademie Vienna already offered telc examinations. By becoming a licensed ÖSD examination centre, it has now expanded its existing examination portfolio to include ÖSD exams. This new offering is aimed specifically at candidates who require proof of German proficiency for their stay in Austria, whether for professional purposes or university admission.

DeutschAkademie aims to establish the strongest possible position for itself as an examination centre in Vienna. Adding ÖSD exams to its portfolio will support the further expansion of its examination services and help meet the growing demand for internationally recognised exams.
