Purpose of the association
According to §§ 34 to 47 BAO (Federal Fiscal Code), ÖSD is a non-profit organisation with its own legal entity, exclusively pursuing charitable causes.
Its main purpose encompasses primarily:
a. the validation and certification of German language skills and proficiency
b. raising awareness of German as a pluricentric language
c. supporting Austria’s federal language policies
d. providing information on the development of the German language within the language policy framework
e. participation in national and international linguistic research, especially with regard to “testing, evaluation, performance assessment and certification in the field of German as a Foreign, Second or First Language.”
All of ÖSD’s media serve the purpose of providing information about the association’s subjects, projects and offers and of spreading information about the association’s purposes outlined above.
