New ÖSD examination centre: vielfalt
vielfalt – Bildungs- & Betreuungs GmbH is regarded as an outstanding institution in the field…
Some of our examination centres are launching special projects for this purpose. With this in mind, the DSK International Academy in Cairo has launched the ÖSD school project. The aim is to offer all children in the area the opportunity to have their German language skills certified and thus promote motivation and enthusiasm for education. We think that’s great and thank you for this supportive project! What’s it all about? Dr Mai Hassen, Head of the DSK International Academy, reports on the project:
The project is a partnership between a number of international schools – initially only in Cairo, but later throughout Egypt.
In Cairo, we have many international schools where German is taught as a foreign language, but there is a lack of knowledge about officially recognised exams. That’s why I set myself the goal of passing on information about the ÖSD exams to these schools.
Through these partnerships, students who learn German as a foreign language at the school from an early age can take the ÖSD exams KID 1 and KID 2 with us for a small fee and receive an official certificate at the end.
This project is aimed at students aged 10 to 15 years who want to learn German at their schools or attend a course at our academy.
The students should be able to improve their communication skills and optimise their future prospects by obtaining official ÖSD certificates.
Based on our philosophy that every person has a unique talent, we strive to bring out the hidden talents and potential of each student and improve competences during the preparation for ÖSD exams through effective skills training.
On the one hand, we wanted to set up an institute in Cairo to teach foreign languages and, at the same time, an examination centre to improve personal and professional skills. In this way, we want to enable young people to achieve excellence in areas that are relevant to them. On the other hand, the promotion of the German language through the systematic dissemination of German lessons and the communication of the prevailing cultural situation in Germany, Austria and Switzerland is particularly important to us. The basis for this is the development of an awareness of the importance of education and a broad spectrum of knowledge among children and young people so that they can live independently in society. Last but not least, we want to provide vocational education and training to the students concerned in order to increase their employment potential.
