ÖSD-Exam centre Easy German in Uzbekistan
A language school in a historic setting offers German lessons and ÖSD certificates for tourism…
On July 2024, the ÖSD German exams were held for the first time in the West African state of Benin, formerly Dahomey.
ÖSD employees Claudia Merz and Karoline Janicek traveled from Austria to Benin to test 100 candidates at levels A1, B1 and B2.
The ÖSD exam took place in cooperation with the language institute “Spass mit Deutsch”, under the direction of Mr. Necsima Hervé Kassa, in Abomey-Calavi.
A particular benefit: for the first time, exam participants now had the opportunity to take part in an international German exam without having to travel to the neighboring country of Togo. This saved time and money.
For many, the language course at the “Spass mit Deutsch” institute is their first contact with the German language. But what motivates them to learn German? The goal of the prospective students, some of whom are very young, is first and foremost further education. They also want to improve their chances of finding a job in a German-speaking country such as Austria, Germany or Switzerland.
A particularly interesting detail in the efforts to promote education in Benin: many of the young people have also traveled from other African countries such as Mali or Senegal to take the exam, which once again underlines the importance of such projects.
We would like to thank the language institute “Spass mit Deutsch” for a great cooperation and wish them continued success in teaching the German language.
